The Save Al-Makhrour Initiative
A grassroots Palestinian movement founded in Beit Jala, dedicated to protecting land, environment, heritage, and community wellbeing.
Who we are
Rooted in the historic Al-Makhrour valley
Our initiative was created to defend Palestinian lands from confiscation, environmental degradation, and loss of cultural identity.
We combine legal advocacy, environmental protection, and humanitarian support — believing that protecting the land must go hand-in-hand with caring for the people who live on it.

Our mission
To defend Palestinian land, rights, and dignity through legal action, environmental work, and social empowerment — building resilient communities grounded in justice and compassion.
Our vision
A free and sustainable Palestine where land, people, and heritage coexist in balance, rooted in justice, sustainability, and care for one another.
Our core objectives
What the initiative works toward
Land & legal protection
Provide legal aid and representation to landowners facing confiscation or demolitions.
Environmental stewardship
Promote ecological restoration, biodiversity, and sustainable agriculture.
Community empowerment
Train and support youth, women, and farmers in local sustainability and rights.
Medical & humanitarian support
Provide healthcare for those in need through a community clinic.
Advocacy & awareness
Raise visibility for land rights, heritage, and environmental justice.
Research & documentation
Collect stories, data, and evidence to strengthen legal and public advocacy.
Our areas of work
How the initiative works on the ground
Area 1
Legal Office for Land Defense
Providing free or subsidized legal consultation and representation to protect Palestinian lands, with a focus on areas threatened by confiscation and settlement expansion.
Area 2
Community Education & Empowerment
Delivering workshops on environmental awareness, heritage protection, legal rights, and self-reliance to strengthen local resilience.
Area 3
Environmental & Agricultural Sustainability
Implementing projects that connect heritage with livelihoods — including tree planting, organic farming, and eco-restoration.
Area 4
Medical Support & Community Clinic
Recognizing the urgent need for accessible healthcare, the initiative plans to establish a small community clinic serving people who cannot afford medical treatment.
The clinic will:
- Provide free medical care and essential medicines to those in need.
- Clearly label all provided medicines as “Free Distribution – Not for Sale” to ensure ethical use and transparency.
- Operate with a symbolic service fee of $1–2 USD per visit only to cover sustainability costs — such as cleaning, electricity, and rent.
The goal: no person is denied healthcare due to poverty, while the clinic stays self-sustaining, transparent, and community-centered.
Area 5
Media, Research & Advocacy
Publishing reports, visual documentation, and community stories to share with the public and international partners, amplifying Palestinian resilience.
